Online Therapy CT - Do you offer telehealth or online therapy sessions?

Virtual Therapy in Colchester, CT

Virtual Therapy in Colchester, CT

Yes! Thank goodness for technology. I do offer telehealth or online therapy sessions. It allows me to provide therapy in CT. Please note, you must be in CT to receive telehealth appointment from me. Sessions are done over a secure video platform which allows us to have a video session. Read this blog to learn more about telehealth counseling. I also offer in person appointments in my office in Colchester, CT.

How long are therapy sessions?

The first appointment is an intake appointment.  It is more of an information gathering session which is 55 minutes long.  Follow up appointments are 45 to 55 minutes long (This is dependent on what your health insurance covers and allows. Appointment lengths can vary from insurances).

What happens during the first appointment?

At the beginning of the first appointment, we review the Notice of Privacy, Informed Consent for Treatment, and Financial Agreement.  Then, we begin the intake which is discussing your mood symptoms and life stress to explore what you want to work on in therapy and how I may be able to help.  Click here to read more about what happens at a first therapy appointment.

How often will we meet?

We meet once a week to start stabilizing mood symptoms and increase coping skills.  I want to help you feel better sooner rather than later and to have you reach your therapy goals.  To try to ease scheduling, we try to book the appointment for the same day and time.

Are sessions covered by insurance?

Great  question!  The answers vary with every insurance plan and depending on medical necessity.  First, you will want to find out if your plan has mental health/behavioral health benefits.  Then, you will want to find out if I am an in-network or out-of-network provider and find out what those benefits are.  Typically, there is either a co-pay, deductible, or co-insurance payment that you would be responsible for.  If you decide you are ready to schedule a 15-minute consultation call, please have your insurance card ready so I can also verify your benefits and inform you what the financial responsibility is.  No one likes a surprise bill, so it is better to find out before coming in.

Colchester Therapist - Where do sessions take place?

I provided both telehealth appointments and in person appointments. The address is 7 Park Avenue, Colchester, CT.  You can park in the parking lot in front of the building.

Who do you work with?

I provide individual therapy for adults 18 years old and older who are struggling with anxiety and/or panic.  Click here to learn more about online therapy. You can also click here to read more about anxiety therapy. I work with adults who are motivated to try out different coping strategies to work on reducing anxiety symptoms.  As I work with adults, appointments can only be made by the person seeking therapy for themselves (ex. you cannot schedule an appointment for someone else).

What if I need to cancel our appointment or I get sick?

I have a 24-hour cancellation policy.  If you need to cancel, make sure to give me 24 hours’ notice to avoid paying the late cancellation/no show fee which is $60.00.  The $60.00 late cancellation/no show fee is not covered by insurance.

Therapist in Colchester - Do you take insurance?

Yes, I do.  Click here to read the list of insurance companies I am in network with.  Please have your insurance card on you during the 15-minute phone consultation so I can verify the network status and financial responsibility.  Every insurance plan is different and sometimes behavioral health benefits are carved out to a different company and we want to check that I am in network with that company.  Again, no one likes surprise bills and it is better to know before you come in for your first appointment.
